News from Better Future Finders

​It has been a while since we shared updates from Better Future Finders, and we are excited about the progress happening behind the scenes.

Over the past few weeks, the BFF Thrift Store has continued improving through extensive sorting and organization to maintain quality, affordable clothing, footwear, household items, and children’s toys for our community. We are encouraged by the positive reviews and feedback received recently and invite more people to stop by, shop, and share their experiences with us.

We are especially proud of the young people in the first cohort of our Youth Experience Program (YEP), who are gaining valuable hands-on work experience and improving skills in time management, customer service, workplace etiquette, problem-solving, and communication.

We are also excited about our upcoming summer community event, “Read a Book With Us,” happening on Saturday, June 13. Families and children can look forward to fun activities, free ice cream, shopping vouchers, games, and prizes.

The BFF Resource Room also continues to serve the community through access to resources and support services, and we welcome more people to utilize the space.

As we move through the summer, we are already preparing for an even greater “Back to School with a Purpose” event this August. In the meantime, more youth-focused activities are in the pipeline, including Impact Day and “Keep Yourself Aglow” programs at the YMCA.
